DeAnna Spoerl
Co-owner and Director of Client Services
DeAnna Spoerl is a creative strategist, storyteller, and the co-owner of Bear Icebox Communications, a boutique PR agency helping brands turn bold ideas into headlines. With a background that spans fashion, tech, and entrepreneurship, she specializes in elevating emerging voices and underrepresented industries through media, events, and narrative clarity.
She’s also the founder of Letty Sparrow, a platform spotlighting luxury fashion designers in Chicago, and a contributor to Entrepreneur magazine, where she writes about leadership, belief, and business breakthroughs. DeAnna’s work centers on helping people and brands build confidence, communicate clearly, and show up with purpose.
Known for her straight talk, sharp instincts, and ability to bridge creative vision with strategic execution, she’s helped companies grow—from scrappy startups to award-winning agencies. Whether she’s producing a panel, curating a fashion event, or consulting founders on their brand story, DeAnna leads with authenticity and intention.
When she’s not working, you’ll find her practicing yoga, styling outfits, or hanging out with her husband and two kids in Chicago.

Cristy is an expert with national media, working for a variety of clients, from App Data Room to NFL Play 60 to Noodles & Co and HouseMaster, landing interest from the New York Times, Fast Company, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and more.

James joins our team and brings a background in political PR and communications. He’s a graduate from NYU with a study in political science. His skills have helped land media placements that keep our clients in the news and happy.

Account Manager
Danna is a storyteller passionate about shaping narratives and elevating brand awareness. After graduating from Drake University with a Master’s in Communication, she joined the agency world. Danna has experience in multiple industries, including entertainment, live events, spirits and recreation.

Katie graduated from Iowa State University and started her PR journey in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was able to gain valuable experience writing content, connecting with reporters, and gaining coverage for a variety of clients across different industries.

Geo graduated from Loyola University Chicago and is an experienced social media manager, photographer, writer and PR pro. He was the recipient of the Publicity Club of Chicago’s 30 Under 30 Award and was recently an assistant account executive at a Chicago-based agency before joining our team.

Gavin is on track to graduate from Columbia College Chicago in May, 2025 with a degree in journalism. Primarily focusing on magazine creation and communications with experience contributing for fashion magazines and blogs.
